FAQs

What is included in an educational evaluation?

Our comprehensive evaluations assess cognitive abilities, academic achievement, executive functioning, and social-emotional development. Components of the evaluation will be tailored to your needs-whether that is to learn more about your child’s strengths and areas of concern or assist in informing eligibility and gaining access to school-based or community-based services. You will receive a detailed report with recommendations and a feedback session to discuss results.

How do I know if my child needs an evaluation?

If your child struggles with reading, writing, math, attention, organization, memory, learning, behavioral challenges, depressive or anxious symptoms, or any major life activity that may impact their education, an evaluation can help identify underlying challenges and guide appropriate interventions.

Do you attend IEP or 504 meetings?

Yes! We offer partial or full advocacy support, including document reviews, preparing recommendations, and attending meetings to help ensure your concerns are heard and your child’s needs are met.

What is student skills coaching?

Skills coaching is held within a one-on-one setting, and helps students develop skills such as time management, organization, and study strategies. We also offer support around regulating and managing emotions, self-advocacy, social skills, and tutoring for reading, writing, math, and Spanish.

Are services provided in-person or virtually?

Our team has experience working within the school building and online school settings. Depending on your location and needs, services may be provided in-person and/or virtually.

Are services covered by insurance?

Like other practices that offer similar services, we do not bill or accept insurance directly. However, your health insurance company may reimburse some or all of your child’s services. If you decide to seek reimbursement for our services from your insurance carrier, we’re happy to provide a Superbill to assist you.
